Over the past few years, we have built up quite a list of followers for the Hillwide.
We only email them during July and August in the run-up to our neighborhood garage sale, with reminders to register and updates on our fundraising efforts for the neighborhood center.
And of course, we expect a few unsubscribes every year as people move away to other neighborhoods in the city, other cities in the state or even other states.
So it is wonderful when we hear from people who have moved away and STILL stay on our list for the vicarious pleasure of staying in touch with the Hillwide.
We had one such neighbor-in-exile reach out this past week, in response to our “missing you” message in our weekly update email and here is what she had to say:
Awww. I don’t live in Bernal anymore, and my last sale did all the clearing out I needed to do! I’m sure the Hillwide registration will pick up a little bit soon …—Vicky
